Link Building Packages
Link building is one of the most widely acknowledged methods of online marketing. Gaining backlinks is a form of search optimisation that is known to have a strong positive effect on search engine rankings. Backlinks are basically links from other web pages to your own pages, which act as a vote of confidence in the eyes of search engine spiders. Generally speaking, the more backlinks you have pointing towards you the better. However, there are a number of conditions that can either make or break a backlink campaign.
While it is understood that backlinks are used by search engines including Google to establish the ranking positions of web pages, it is not known with certainty what other factors are taken into account. It is estimated that there are hundreds of different ranking factors involved in the Google algorithm, so it is important to remember that backlinks alone are not the answer to high Google rankings.
One of the main conditions that is important to consider when building a backlink campaign is the relevancy of the pages you are getting links from. A correctly managed link building campaign will examine several key factors in relation to the pages the links come from. Relevancy to the subject matter on your own pages is perhaps the most important of all. A page that talks about caravan sales has no relevancy to a page promoting household appliances, and therefore a link between the two would have little or no value, and could prove potentially harmful.
Other points to consider are the age and quality of the website on which the link is placed. Older and more established websites will tend to have pages with a higher Google PageRank, which is a rough measure of the search engine’s general opinion of a page, based on a logarithmic score of between 0 and 10. The PageRank, combined the page’s subject relevancy and factors such as its own incoming link structure help to determine whether a page is a good location to place a link. If it is, then negotiation with the website owner will typically involve a payment in the same way it would if you were to place an advert on the site.
There are many complex issues to consider before beginning a link building campaign, and therefore it is generally much safer to employ the services of a link building agency to put together a tailored backlink campaign. Getting it wrong can actually have potentially damaging consequences if Google were to penalise your website for employing poorly managed link structures that appear to be designed solely for the purposes of manipulating their search results.
